Here’s How To Get A Whiter, Bright Smile

Everyone desires to have a great smile. For a killer smile, one should have sparkling, bright, and shiny teeth. Today, a lot of consumers are spending more money just to have their teeth whiter. They purchase the best teeth whitening treatments and undergo procedures to get brilliant white teeth.

Whitening the teeth procedures are a valuable way to lighten the color of the teeth and leaves the surface of the tooth intact. Unfortunately teeth whitening procedures will only lighten the existing color of the teeth. With only a few that are truly blessed with very white teeth it is difficult for many to achieve that great white smile. Teeth seem to discolor as we grow up leaving our smile less than sparkling.

Our teeth can also be stained on the enamel because of the food and drink we eat. Coffee, tea, and red wine will discolor our teeth. Smoking is another cause of teeth discoloration. Most people may encounter staining beneath the surface which is caused by minute cracks in the teeth or certain antibiotics that absorb the stains.

The most common way to lighten teeth is by bleaching. Always get the approval and recommendation of your dentist before you begin a teeth bleaching treatment. This method is done by putting a special gel or rubber guard on the soft tissue and then the bleaching solution will be applied to the teeth with the use of a special mouth shaped tray.

Laser whitening, otherwise known as power whitening, is often considered the best teeth whitening method. It is however rather expensive which makes it unaffordable to many.

The whitening effect of laser whitening can often last up to three years. Of course you are advised to avoid teeth discoloring activities such as smoking, drinking coffee and red wine, and eating products and snacks that may stain the teeth as well. Some people report a sensitivity of the tooth after laser whitening; however, they usually go away within a few days.

There are other methods of whitening for your teeth; the aforementioned ones were just the most popular. The most expensive, longest lasting, option is to have porcelain installed to cover your teeth. The cost can be significant but the results last for 15 years. There's nothing like the feeling you get when you flash that perfect smile.
